Job Summary:The Commercial Tire Technician is responsible for the successful completion of all assigned customer work orders related to the accurate repair and replacement of customer tires and fleet checks.  Commercial Tire Technicians are responsible for maintaining service vehicle equipment and work areas ensuring a clean, safe and healthy work environment.   Essential Functions:
  • Completes all assigned duties including, but not limited to:
 tire installation and repair, tire balancing and tire rotations. 
  • Ensure that all vehicles have appropriate work orders and customer authorizations and note any additional work completed per job
 
  • Advises management on inspection results of fleet checks and service                 recommendations.
 
  • Operation of customer and company vehicles in a safe manner.      
 
  • Organizes and maintains all tools, equipment, parts and accessories to assure ease of use and safety.
 
  • Maintain a professional image through effective customer interactions.
 
  • Demonstrate professional courtesy with customers and co-workers at all times.
 
  • Follows all company safe work practices and policies.
 
  • Attend all education seminars and operation meetings as required.
 
  • Performs general maintenance duties including:        cleaning and organization of work area, and cleaning service vehicle at the end of the work day.
 
  • Properly completes Bandag work order form and tag, tires correspondingly.  
 
  • Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management.
  Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist management with monthly inventory procedures.
 
  • Operation of customer and company vehicles in a safe manner.
  Job Qualifications:
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment.
 
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to drive customer's vehicles on and off company premises, including public highways.
 
  • Must be able to pass a DOT Physical.
 
  • Must be able to pass TIA Certification Training.
 
  • Must be able to move, stack and maneuver tires and wheels ranging in weight from 50 – 100 lbs. on a frequent basis.
 
  • Must be able to read and follow instructions on computer generated work orders.
 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or 17 years of age and enrolled in a state certified vocational program.
 
  • Must comply with all Company policies and procedures.
